Academic Leadership
Teaching & Mentorship
As a Professor at AIIMS, teaching the next generation of orthopaedic and spine surgeons is core to the work — through thesis supervision, mentorship programmes and biodesign faculty roles.
A teaching hospital surgeon’s legacy is measured as much in the surgeons they train as in the operations they perform.
Supervision & thesis guidance
Dr. Garg has served as guide and co-guide for numerous MS, MD, M.Ch and DM theses, and as a PhD and MSc co-guide and doctoral-committee member. He has also been Program Chair for the M.Ch (Orthopaedics) programme and a PhD co-guide at Texila University.
Mentorship programmes
He is a mentor in the AO Access Mentorship Program and was selected for induction into the American College of Surgeons’ Academy of Master Surgeon Educators — recognition of teaching as a craft in its own right.
Biodesign & innovation education
As faculty for the School of International Biodesign, Dr. Garg helps train clinicians and engineers to identify clinical needs and design devices to meet them — carrying his own translational approach into the next generation.
